NETObserve Installation Instructions

Thank you for purchasing NETObserve! After a few more steps you will have the ability to remotely record and view keystrokes, windows, websites, passwords, chats and IMs, and screen shots on your PC. In the event you have an antivirus application installed on the PC you may need to exclude certain files from being scanned. For more information on antivirus exclusions please click here.

AntiVirus Exclusions

Because of its recording and surveillance abilities, NETObserve can be labeled as spyware by programs such as Norton and McAfee. Directions are included on how to exclude NETObserve from being deleted or effected by these applications.

Install in Administrator Mode

This will install NETObserve with shortcuts in the Start Menu and help documentation. In the event you would like to install NETObserve without Start Menu shortcuts and help documentation please click here for Stealth Mode installation instructions.

It is very important that NETObserve is not running while installing or updating.

Step 1

In order to begin installation insert the CD into the CD drive or if you purchased a download copy double-click the NETObserve-setup file. The welcome window will load as shown in the image below. Please be sure to read all the information prior to clicking the Next > button.

Step 2

After clicking the Next > button the Important Notes window will load. Read through the important notes then click the Next > button.

Step 3

In this next window you will see the ExploreAnywhere Software End User License Agreement. After reading and agreeing to the End User License Agreement click the Yes button.

Step 4

The next window allows you to choose which directory you would like to install NETObserve in. If you would like to change the destination directory/folder names to something other than 'ExploreAnywhere' and 'NETObserve', type the new names in this step and then click the Next > button.

Step 5

In the following window select Administrator and click the Next > button.

Step 6

In the next window setup will add program icons to the Program Folder NETObserve. If you would like to change the folder name from NETObserve to something else do so here. You can also skip this step by clicking the 'Skip This' button.

Step 7

In the final window click the Next > button to begin installation.

Step 8

Now you will be prompted to select Yes to include an uninstaller or No if you do not want to include an uninstaller. See image below.

Step 9

NETObserve installation is now complete. Click the Close button to run NETObserve!

Step 10

Now you will be prompted to restart your PC. Click Yes to restart.

When your PC is finished rebooting simply click the Start button, Programs, NETObserve 2.98, then NETObserve.

Create a password you will be able to remember and click Save Password.

Success!

After you create a password NETObserve will load the 5 step configuration wizard. Select which features you would like to monitor, click the Next button until step 5 and click Finish.

To begin monitoring with NETObserve click the Start Now! button, enter your password, and click Start.

The following window will prompt you to launch the NETObserve control panel. Click the Yes button to launch the control panel and view your NETObserve logs. See image below.

After clicking Yes, choose your remote IP, and click the Use this IP Address button and Internet Explorer will load. The following page will load and enter the password you created and click the Login Now! button.

To load your NETObserve software when in stealth mode simple hold down all of the following hotkeys at the same time to enter your password:

CTRL SHIFT ALT F12

Install in Stealth Mode

These instructions are for installing NETObserve in stealth mode and will not create shorcuts in the Start Menu or install help documentation.

It is very important that NETObserve is not running while installing or updating.

Step A

Step B

After clicking the Next > button the Important Notes window will load. Read through the important notes then click the Next > button.

Step C

In this next window you will see the ExploreAnywhere Software End User License Agreement. After reading the End User License Agreement click the Yes button.

Step D

The next window allows you to choose which directory you would like to install NETObserve in. We strongly recommend that you keep NETObserve in the default directory and click the Next > button.

Step E

In the following window select Stealth/Hidden and click the Next > button.

Step F

In the next window setup will add program icons to the Program Folder NETObserve. If you would like to change the folder name from NETObserve to something else do so here. You can also skip this step by clicking the 'Skip This' button.

Step G

In the final window click the Next > button to begin installation.

Step H

Now you will be prompted to chose Yes or No if you would like to include an uninstaller. Please select No in order to continue the Stealth installation.

Step I

NETObserve installation is now complete. Click the Yes button to restart your PC and begin using NETObserve.
